The Armenian playmaker is set to move in the opposite direction and join Arsenal on a long-term contract. Sanchez is closing in on a move Manchester United, with playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan expected to head to Arsenal as part of the deal.
United were unable to complete the formalities of Sanchez's switch by the midday deadline yesterday in order for him to be available to make his debut at Burnley today. But once the Chile international does make his move to Old Trafford, United will end their transfer business for the January window. That is according to Spanish outlet Marca, who claim United boss Jose Mourinho is happy to stick with his squad for the remainder of the season.
The Red Devils have been linked with Real Madrid duo Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, but those reports are thought to be wide of the mark. Instead, Marca claim Mourinho will look to strengthen his side in the summer ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
